Hannes Zander, Switzerland
Landscape Architect & Researcher
Hannes Zander is a landscape architect and researcher. He is interested in the transformation of land and social structures through forces of urbanization. Hannes is Co-Managing Director and Team Leader at the Ecological Urbanism Collaboration based in Beijing, a research institute collaboratively run by the Harvard Graduate School of Design and the Peking University College of Architecture and Landscape. His current research studies fast growing urban regions in China across scales, from the territorial to the human scale, and how these multiple levels of data can inform each other in order to develop specific recommendations for more sustainable modes of urbanization in China. Hannes received a Bachelor of Landscape Architecture degree from the University of Applied Sciences in Rapperswil, Switzerland, and a Master of Landscape Architecture from the Graduate School of Design at Harvard University.
