Landscape Architect, Architect
Sonja Vangjeli is a Landscape & Architectural Designer and Researcher interested in the relationship of cultures with their regional landscapes and land settlement patterns. Drawing from her multidisciplinary background and experience in Architecture, Landscape, and Urban Design, she analyzes complex urban sites, working toward design strategies that balance development priorities with site identity, cultural heritage, landscape conservation and green infrastructure. Sonja has worked on a wide range of projects across multiple scales and disciplines with Sasaki Associates, West 8 Landscape Architecture & Urban Design, and Regional Architects / Planning Alliance.
She has also worked as a researcher with the Zofnass Program for Sustainable Infrastructure at Harvard, studying Flood Risk and Resilience Strategies. Sonja is a graduate of the Harvard Graduate School of Design (MLA’16) and the University of Waterloo School of Architecture (MArch’13 and HBAS’11), where she was awarded the AIA Henry Adams Medal and the ARCC King Medal for Excellence in Architectural + Environmental Research.
